BOOK SIGNING
Roger Sharpe, candidate for Fifth District U. S. House,
autographs a copy of his memoirs "Ceremony Of Innocence" for Opal Rupard,
of Iredell County. Looking on is Avery Sharpe (center), grandnephew of Roger,
and grandson of Opal. Avery was on R & R from the U. S. Army in Iraq and was
preparing to return to Iraq. Avery's brother, Wayne Sharpe, has already
served one tour of duty in Iraq and received his papers to return for a second
tour of duty there. They were among a large number of family members
and supporters at a reception for Roger held at the home of his niece,
Anita (and Allen) Miller, in Iredell County.
